GSVC

GSVC (Gender-Sensitive Value Chain) Analysis use value chain approach as a methodological framework to analyze interventions for the economic upgrading of women in entrepreneurship. The objective is to follow a business- and market-driven approach to empower female entrepreneurs and enterprises in Armenia. The value chain approach contains a clear market orientation which focuses on a certain subsector or product, and analyzes the relationship between suppliers, producers, processors and buyers as well as the supporting organizations involved in producing these products.
A GSVC exercise lasts about 2 weeks and includes workshops and interviews with main stakeholders in the field. It maps and analyzes the value chain and identifies initiatives which will boost the development of the sector and particularly women businesses. This approach uses the value chain concept as the guiding analytical framework and identifies those initiatives/interventions which will be effective for empowerment of women entrepreneurs in a specific sector and particular region.
